Department Policies
It is the policy of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees and ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ, a postsecondary institution under its control, that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, religion, marital status, disability, gender, age, or any other protected class as defined by federal and state law, be excluded from participation, denied benefits, or subjected to discrimination under any program, activity, or employment. Refund Policy- A student who withdraws before the start of a class will receive a 100% refund. Students must contact the GSCC Continuing Education and Corporate Training Managers’ Office prior to the first day of class at 256-549-8652 or dcordell@gadsdenstate.edu to officially withdraw from a course. Gadsden State does not give cash refunds. Refunds are mailed from the Business Office or refunded to the card used for payment. A student who withdraws after the class begins will not be issued a refund. Failure to attend a class does not constitute withdrawal. Participant substitutions into later courses may be made with at least a 24-hour notice prior to the course start date.
In case of inclement weather, classes may be postponed. snow, ice or power failure may force building or campus closings. For weather-related closing and postponements, please refer to radio, television, and watch for website announcements. If in doubt, err on the side of your personal safety and do not attempt to attend if you cannot travel safely to the campus.
